Our philosophy
Each spring, waist-deep in the water, I find myself wondering how I have managed to maintain the hectic pace of the previous months. How can I express the peace and well-being I feel - gently rocked by the current, lungs full of cool, clean air, and my heart full of hope that soon my line may be tight to a leaping fish? The river itself has the answer - a wordless answer much bigger than the question, an answer that gets at the soul of this sport - quiet, wild, free and alone.
We at Torrent believe that the art of fly-fishing should be deeply rooted in the respect for nature and for its creatures. The wild speckled trout, native to Quebec waters, wake us up to the beauty of a healthy environment and reminds us of the importance of protecting its natural habitats. So we encourage responsible fishing that includes releasing fish, respecting the environment, and following a well-developed ethical and social conscience.
